We are so glad that you are visiting our blog. It is here that you can learn all about This Jones Family and all that we do

This Jones family began in 1997 when Greg and I started as friends over a Christmas break. That friendship soon turned to a relationship and as time passed by, we kept growing together, not really knowing that we were building our future together. Three years after we started dating, we made our first commitment to create a family together and promised forever to eachother. Taylor was born in 2000 and two years later he became a big brother to twin girls Kaylie and Alyssa. We're a small little family that loves to spend all of our time together. This is how our story began, please check back frequently to see how our family continues.

Back to School

Today was the first day back to school. Taylor is in the 4th grade and the girls are in the 1st grade. Overall, it was a good day back to school. Everyone got up on time and went about all of the morning routine without a problem. Of course this was only b/c it was their first day back and they were excited...most school mornings consist of not waking up, fussing about the type of cereal we have, playing in their room rather than getting ready, fighting over who's turn it is to be at the sink to brush their teeth, lost shoes and belts, crying over gettting their tangled hair brushed, forgotten items that we have to go back to the house for...Oh man that's exhausting! Maybe this year will be different....please!?

Anyway, on the way to school we had a little interview about our thoughts for the school year...

When we got to the school, Taylor took off to find his friends. Greg tried to play the understanding dad and told us girls to let him go and be "cool" with his friends. I snapped some pictures of each of them before heading into the building. We walked the girls to their class and got some photos of them inside. Then the understanding dad, decided that it wouldn't hurt to stop by Taylor's class just to tell him to have a good day. I pulled him into the hall to get a quick photo in front of the classroom and asked him if I could take one of him at his desk...this is when I knew my baby boy had become a too cool 4th grader. He said to me "That's a little too much"...and with that Mom and Dad had to leave the school to let our children have their first day at school.

Everyone seemed to be in good spirits when they got home. They were a bit tired tonight seeing as though they had dance and football this evening. At the dinner table I had each of them write down one word that described their day...here's what we got:
Taylor-Fun
Kaylie-Exciting
Alyssa-Awesome

The girls were excited about their math test and the fact that they didn't fight with their friend Genesis. Taylor could not stop talking about how awesome his planner was and how he's excited that he gets to use a binder to stay organized. So with that...lets hope for a good year!
