We are so glad that you are visiting our blog. It is here that you can learn all about This Jones Family and all that we do

This Jones family began in 1997 when Greg and I started as friends over a Christmas break. That friendship soon turned to a relationship and as time passed by, we kept growing together, not really knowing that we were building our future together. Three years after we started dating, we made our first commitment to create a family together and promised forever to eachother. Taylor was born in 2000 and two years later he became a big brother to twin girls Kaylie and Alyssa. We're a small little family that loves to spend all of our time together. This is how our story began, please check back frequently to see how our family continues.

It's Broken

Well it seems as though Alyssa is going to be our child that is prone to broken bones.  The poor thing has broken her other wrist.  (She broke her right wrist in Kindergarten) She and Kaylie were sleeping over at a friends house and she was standing on the edge of the trampoline when she got bounced off. Seeing as though this was the night before recital, I had just told them before they left not to get on the trampoline but for some reason these kids just don't think their mother could have any logic behind her words!  An hour into the sleepover, we got a call that this had happened and it wasn't looking good. Greg and I had just sat down and ordered all you can eat sushi so Greg left to pick her up. As soon as he picked her up and called me to give me an update, I could tell she had broken it because her cry and her calm but pained voice was the same as it was the last time this happened. On top of the pain, she was a mess of emotions knowing that she might not be able to dance in recital the next two nights. We got to the emergency room, confirmed it was broken (in two spots) and then crossed our fingers for some sort of miracle. The next day we were able to get her in to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and he agreed to put a cast on her-green and black even for her studio colors! When we stopped by the friends house to give everyone the update, we found Kaylie had been put in a box with packing peanuts to stay safe!  The next two nights she danced on stage and hardly missed a beat. She danced right through the pain even though there were a few moments at the end of her dances that she came off stage in tears. Regardless, she was a trooper and everyone was so proud of her!  Now begins a long four weeks with a cast on-luckily she has a brother who agrees to sleep on the couch with her (because that is where she is more comfortable but too scared to sleep downstairs by herself), and a sister who is kind enough to wash her hair for her.
