We are so glad that you are visiting our blog. It is here that you can learn all about This Jones Family and all that we do

This Jones family began in 1997 when Greg and I started as friends over a Christmas break. That friendship soon turned to a relationship and as time passed by, we kept growing together, not really knowing that we were building our future together. Three years after we started dating, we made our first commitment to create a family together and promised forever to eachother. Taylor was born in 2000 and two years later he became a big brother to twin girls Kaylie and Alyssa. We're a small little family that loves to spend all of our time together. This is how our story began, please check back frequently to see how our family continues.

Colorado's Beach

We have always wanted to take a trip to the southern part of the state and visit the Sand Dunes. I use to go when I was little but Greg and I have never taken the kids there. Last weekend we were talking with James and Sarah and they've always wanted to go to and it just so happened that this weekend was free for all of us. So we packed up the car, got up at 5:00 am and made the 3 hour drive down. If you have never been, you really should. Whether you live here in Colorado or you come here for a visit, I can honestly say that this is my favorite thing to do in our state. We stopped by the visitors center first and he referred to it as "Colorado's Beach". What a blast we had. In order to get to the dunes you have to go across the big stream of water that comes from the mountain run off of snow and rain. Of course the kids absolutely loved this. They stripped down to their suits and went to town. It was great to be able to just let them go and let them do their thing without any worry. We plopped ourselves down just on the other side of the water and we began to build a huge hole to fill with water. The project kept building and building and before we knew it, it was time for lunch. The kids were ready to sit and chill before the adults! After lunch we took a short hike up the dunes. We didn't go too far. The peaks are huge, the sand is hot (It can get up to 140 degrees in the afternoon's), and I'm not so much of a hiker! But we did get up in them and the kids had fun rolling down the slopes. It was amazing to see the way other's do the Sand Dunes. They bring their sun tents, chairs, grills, sleds, snowboards....and they spend the entire day and weekend playing. We plan to go back and do the same thing! So here are some of our pictures and a few video shots...
