We are so glad that you are visiting our blog. It is here that you can learn all about This Jones Family and all that we do

This Jones family began in 1997 when Greg and I started as friends over a Christmas break. That friendship soon turned to a relationship and as time passed by, we kept growing together, not really knowing that we were building our future together. Three years after we started dating, we made our first commitment to create a family together and promised forever to eachother. Taylor was born in 2000 and two years later he became a big brother to twin girls Kaylie and Alyssa. We're a small little family that loves to spend all of our time together. This is how our story began, please check back frequently to see how our family continues.

Stay or Go??

Greg and I had some serious decision making going on in the last two weeks. If you don't know, Greg and I both work for AAA Northern California/Nevada/Utah (AAA isn't a national company, there are three major ones and then a bunch of smaller clubs. Ours is one of the bigger three). Anyway, our club is getting ready to open up our third claims center in Oklahoma City later this year. With this, there are a lot of changes occurring within our company. In the last year there have been several layoff's and re-designs and with this new center there will be jobs transferred and still more re-designs of the company. Needless to say it's been a little stressful. Greg has an opportunity to take a promotion at the new center in Oklahoma City with a considerable pay increase. I as well could transfer out there. It was hard to sort through all of the pros and cons of staying or going but we finally did and decided that for us right now, it's best for us to stay. One of our co-workers put it best today when she said that for awhile she also was feeling like she was missing out an opportunity for promotion but then she realized that the opportunity was never hers to take. It may be an opportunity but it wasn't her opportunity. We feel the same way and I wanted to share some of the reason's we decided to stay.
*Taylor gave us a pretty good understanding when he said "the best home is the one you already have"
*Our family is here, and although we don't always get to spend time with them...it's nice to know that we can see them whenever we want.
*It's important for the kids to continue to thrive in a school that we have carefully chosen that teaches them the things that we value.
*The kids are involved in many activities and are just beginning to make strong relationships with the kids that are on their teams
*Greg has worked extremely hard and sacrificed so much to balance work, family and school...it's time for him to relax for awhile and not add more stress to his life.
So for all those who would hate for us to leave-we're here to stay (for now)...and all those that wish we were leaving..you're stuck with us! lol.

It would have been nice though to be just 4 hours away from our family in Texas...we miss you!!
