This year I have decided that I am not sending out Christmas cards. A Christmas Card could not possibly capture one picture that described the year that we've had or the people that we have become. Those that we hold close to our hearts, know where to find us and hopefully visit this blog often to keep up with what we are doing. We keep it going not just for us to look back on and remember what we did but to make sure that those that we love can be part of our every day lives whether they are near or far. Each year we put together a video of the years best moments. Every year it gets harder and harder to choose what pictures to use because we continue to add such wonderful people to our lives that share in so many great moments with us. This video captures the best of times this year but it doesn't fully show the amazing year we had and how thankful we are to all of our friends and family who helped us get through it.
The year started off with change in the air and it wasn't long before that change actually came. The first change was when Greg's job asked us to move to California and without knowing what would happen we turned down the offer and began looking at where our lives were going to take us. It didn't take long for a new offer to come up but in Texas. The timing, the place, the company-pretty much everything seemed to be the perfect match. It all came so quickly and before summer started we were planning to pick up and move away. But as summer came we were a little apprehensive to pick up our roots and start somewhere new so we made a choice that we knew could go either direction for our family. In July we all travelled down to Texas to move Greg down there...that's right we moved Greg down there. We all decided it would be best for myself and the kids to stay in Colorado while Greg got use to the new job and made sure it was the right fit. If everything worked out right we would move at the end of the school semester. Right away Greg knew this was the company for him and the kids and I started preparing to say goodbye to our friends and start planning our lives in Texas. But before we could get too far in our planning we were shocked with a great surprise. Greg's boss told him that if he spent the rest of the year down in Texas he would have no problem with him staying in Colorado and working from home. The news came with mixed feelings from all of us. We absolutely love our friends, family and life that we have here but we were very disappointed to be missing out on time with our Texas family. The last six months of Greg being away has been some of the most difficult times we've had yet but at the same time some of the most rewarding as well. Rewarding because we've had no choice but to grow stronger as a family and depend on each other more. Also rewarding in having so many of our friends reach out to us and show us what amazing friendships we have. So many people helped us whether that was offering their support in giving information about Texas or helping me transport the kids from place to place or just letting us know they were here for us in the moments we weren't expecting it. Life in 2012 could not be explained any better than a roller coaster ride. It had highs and lows and in the end we were thrilled with the ride but excited to move on to 2013 and see what life brings to us. We hope you all had an amazing year and know how much we truly appreciate having you as part of ours!
Enjoy this look back on 2012 that you shared with us and come back to visit our blog throughout 2013!
