It is officially football season and with that means BLRA Stallion Football for Taylor. I absolutly love the 6 or so Saturdays that we get to go and watch our baby boy do something that he loves and has a passion for. I love watching these boys cheer for eachother, show concern for eachother, work together and celebrate together. They started playing together last fall and over the last two seasons, they have grown into such a great little pee wee team. A lot of them, including Taylor are just now starting to really get it and understand every aspect of the game and it's been so much fun to watch them. Until this season, Taylor enjoyed being out there but could have cared less what he did to contribute to the game. He would just smile and go out there and do what he thought his job was and if they won, it was reason enough to celebrate. But this season, something has clicked for him and he cannot get enough of this game. He has been put at split end and seems to be doing pretty well with it. The game this last Saturday, he was responsible for the blocks that allowed us to score the first two touchdowns. Besides watching Taylor play such a fun sport I also love the unity we have as a team including all of the parents, coaches, and siblings. It's fun to watch the dad's get so in to the games and work with the boys. They cheer louder than anyone when we're doing well and run up and down the sidelines when things get a little tense. All of the kids run around playing together, cheering and holding banners for the team. Thank goodness we play in the spring too because we would have major withdrawls if we couldn't have our Saturday football games!
So far we've won our first two games. Keep your fingers crossed that we win the rest of them and go on to the championship!
