We are so glad that you are visiting our blog. It is here that you can learn all about This Jones Family and all that we do

This Jones family began in 1997 when Greg and I started as friends over a Christmas break. That friendship soon turned to a relationship and as time passed by, we kept growing together, not really knowing that we were building our future together. Three years after we started dating, we made our first commitment to create a family together and promised forever to eachother. Taylor was born in 2000 and two years later he became a big brother to twin girls Kaylie and Alyssa. We're a small little family that loves to spend all of our time together. This is how our story began, please check back frequently to see how our family continues.

My Ramona

Some of you know Ramie and some of you don't but Ramie Dawn Martinez is not only an amazing person-she is my very best friend. This past weekend she got married to someone just as amazing-Joe Hencemann. It was such a privilege to be part of such an important time in their lives and I am blessed to have them as an extended part of our family. The entire week was fun and I will forever hold on to the laughs and tears that we all shared.

The Sunday before, I hosted Ramie's shower. She didn't want the traditional silly wedding shower so we decided to have a wine party instead. Everyone brought a bottle of wine to have a tasting and then we played a couple of fun wine games, one of which I printed a bunch of strange wine labels and the teams had to make up a story about Ramie and Joe using all of the labels. Despite the crazy names, the stories were actually quite good and funny!

The next big event was all of the ladies going to have their nails done. We all went together to relax and have mimosas to celebrate.

Later that night was the bachelorette party. Lets just say we had a blast!! Ramie and I decided that the event would be an 80's theme and everyone came dressed up and ready to party. We played twister in the backyard, had tons of 80's candy, sang 80's karaoke and then left for the bars. Ramie picked out a few fun bars and we went from one to the next having a few drinks and not caring that we all looked crazy in our 80's hairstyle's and gear. We ended up at a place called Funky Buda and although I admit, I thought I would never do this...we all tried to take pole dancing lessons. Most of us were not so good but there were a few that were impressive. Most of the fun was laughing and being silly.

Friday was the rehearsal where we all got a little burnt from being in the sun. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner hosted by Joe's parents and cried over their thoughtful words and gifts to each of the bridal party members.

Ramie and I stayed at the hotel to ensure we were nice and rested. Greg went and bought us a DVD player to hook up so we could watch one of our favorite movies 4 Weddings and a Funeral. We watched the movie, ate some great snacks and talked to early morning just like we did when we were in high school!

Saturday was the big day. Before everything began, the girls had a champagne breakfast-again to relax and enjoy being together. Of course there were more laughs and more tears but it seems that's what we all did best all week. After the breakfast, we all got ready together.

Come time for the wedding, everyone looked beautiful-especially the bride! It was truly a fun time for all and one of my favorite moments was when in the middle of the ceremony Ramie turned around and asked me if she could take off her shoes. Gotta love a girl who picks a great pair of shoes and then in the middle of the biggest day of her life decides to just take them off. That's Ramie for you!

Congratulations Ramie and Joe!

  1. The week of our wedding was one of my favorite times in my life. The thing about living a good life is that your life should be made up of many "favorite times"...and mine has been. From writing notes about boys in middle school to cheerleading in HS, to growing as women, to my wedding...we have been through it all together and I would never have it any other way. I am blessed to have you as my best friend. Our wedding week was so fun, so "me" so "us" so WONDERFUL. We love you. xoxo me
